Shinano riverbank, Niigata city. 7.07 pm
As I alighted Niigata city terminal of 2 hour shinkansen ride from Tokyo, huge crowd wearing yukata and kimono seem walking to a single points. The movement coincide with the way to my hotel. As I walk and ask the police nearby, she said there will be a fireworks tonight at the shinano river as part of the Niigata Festival. I decided to join the crowd and sat at the riverbank to watch the fireworks.
